Western Canadian threshing advances amid wet weather
Wheat harvests push forward in Manitoba Saskatchewan and southern Alberta despite frequent delays from wet conditions. Alberta reports better grade than Manitoba or Saskatchewan with higher total wheat yield but poor quality. Saskatchewan shows general threshing about 45 percent complete with showers slowing progress and mixed regional yields. In Manitoba over half the wheat is threshed but rains limit output and quality, with reported 1934 wheat production at its lowest since 1900 and coarse grains fairly good in some districts. Unsettled north weather slows hare nesting. early frost damage in central and north regions worsened.

Shrunken wheat as feed for livestock and poultry
Farmers with rusted shrunken wheat should assess its feeding value before disposal at low prices. It offers higher protein for growing stock, dairy cows, and laying poultry, but limited starch makes it poor for fattening. Pigs benefit from mixing shrunken wheat with ground barley, and poultry may match better grades when fed with barley in winter.

Deputation presses Neepawa to Glenboro road upgrade
A four rural municipalities deputation led by three government members urged the provincial government to add a 50 mile all weather road from Neepawa to Glenboro to the highway program. They referenced the 1932 proposal endorsed by the United States Boundry Association and noted the need for a bridge over the Assiniboine at Carberry. They also asked attention to the north-south link from Austin toward Gladstone and potential southern routes toward No 2 highway, citing travel difficulties on current routes.
