Goodbye to the Old Res A nostalgic reminiscence of Beaver Creek reservoir days

The piece recalls the filling of the Beaver Creek reservoir in the early 20th century with earth and dynamite blasting, a pump house and windmill, and the CPR water supply. It remembers municipal purchase in 1916, community swimming from the 1920s to the 1950s, named families and local children, dime-ins, dress rooms, late-night swims, and a vivid lakeside scene seen from a window, with games, skaters, and ice trade as winter brought danger and laughter.
