Wagon Train Ends Winter Trek Near Gladstone

The five remaining members of the Great Canadian Wagon Train halted their 2020 season near Gladstone Manitoba after five months of travel from Steinburg Ontario. Rain slowed progress, and the group plans to resume toward Alberta’s Peace River country next spring. Participants include Jim and Karen Collins of Burlington Ontario, who intend to winter in Gladstone if work is available, while Anne Lance Murray Tucker and John Houghton return to Toronto. The journey began April 1 with 30 pioneers amid storms, money issues and eccentric encounters, yet camaraderie persisted as they await another year of travel.
