Green outlines Whitemud watershed plan for Manitoba towns

Manitoba Mines Minister Sidney Green outlined a Whitemud watershed conservation district proposal at a Neepawa town hall meeting with about 100 municipal officials. The plan envisages provincial funding up to 71 percent for reservoirs and flood control works, with municipalities contributing up to five mills, and creates eight sub districts under a district board. Neepawa officials noted rural municipalities would share costs, while towns would use the watershed for water supply and recreation.
