The Austin Union Church will induct its Pastor-elect on September 18 at 3 pm with the Portage la Prairie Presbytery in charge. A special Sunday feature on the 16th at 7 pm will unveil the Honor Roll listing local boys who have gone overseas to serve King and country.

By warrant dated September 8 1917 the Rural Municipality of North Norfolk gives notice that unless arrears of taxes and costs are paid by October 23 1917 the Municipal Hall in MacGregor will auction off parcels listed for arrears of taxes and costs.
According to a report from Ottawa every man exempted from service in Canada's overseas army will be drafted to serve in the Home Defence forces unless he is physically unfit or employed at work vital to the nation's continuation of the war. At least fourteen hours drill a week will have to be put in.
