The Herald notes delays from late printing and lists social activities, meetings, visits, and celebrations. It covers the Second Masonic District meeting, Ladies Aid supper, W.A. tea, Thanksgiving reminders, deaths in Scotland, birthday greetings, a community sing show, police checks on motorists, Temple Lodge service, tennis club match results, a purse theft, and local travel notices plus theatre listings.
On Tuesday the lawn of Mire Hill hosted about forty grandmothers for a W.1 gathering. The program opened with Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow, a creed read by Mrs. C. W. Lye, and a cordial welcome by Mrs. D. Sutherland with response by Mrs. Tupper. An 80 year old address by Mrs. J.R. MacKinnon followed, a solo by Mrs. A. MacDonald drew an encore, and bouquets were given to four great grandmothers. The hostesses were thanked by Mrs. J. Bousfield and Mrs. R. H. Fotheringham, then pictures and tea concluded the event. The WS members provided the refreshments and hopes for an annual gathering were voiced. Trays and bouquets were sent to shut‑ins and sick grandmothers.
