Property tax credit aims and Portage la Prairie Schools
The funds rebated under the property tax credit system primarily reduce the education portion of the tax. If the education portion is under the rebate, general municipal taxes are rebated up to the allowed amount. Portage la Prairie School Division has 20 schools, 4,422 students, and 232 teachers and staff. Response to Goals Day was excellent with 2,765 questionnaires analyzed by computer from parents, teachers, and students, with a full report planned for the Board and public.
