Aoltjg and Mrs. Harold Gilbert with family visited Sunday with Mr and Mrs Dave McQuiston and family of Killarney. Harold Gilbert attended the trousseau tea in honor of Miss Lenore Sloik last Tuesday in Portage. The Post Sloik wedding occurred in Portage on Saturday August 27.
A brisk Sunday and holiday weekend bring a string of visits. Families from Selkirk Green Ridge and Winnipeg gather at meals and to attend the Kirwan-Ward wedding in Winnipeg, with extended relatives from Camp Robins on and Oakdale in attendance.
Austin district news itemized social and church notices. United church Sunday school begins September 11 at 11 am. Harvest Thanksgiving Service at Christchurch Anglican September 18 at 2 pm. Sunday school at 10 am. Local residents extended greetings to D Cathcart family. Several residents visited relatives in Neepawa and Bran don. Bank of Montreal staff members visited home towns. Elementary school began with 18 beginners and listed teachers. Visit noted from Minnedosa and Orillia visitors. Paving projects in Austin streets discussed.
