Sunday School Lesson on Saul and the Battle of Gilboa
The lesson recounts Saul’s decline and the Philistine invasion on Esdrailon, his seeking a necromancer after Samuel’s death, and the rout at Gilboa. It contrasts leadership failure with courage, notes Jonathan’s valor, and recalls the lifting of the armour by Philistines and Saul’s death, followed by a somber ritual honoring fallen warriors.
