Winnipeg youth Smokes two theft charges in court
Smoke, 19, pleaded guilty to two theft over $50 counts. Prosecutors said he and a companion stole a radio and items valued above $50 with a 22 calibre gun. They later took a snowmobile and damaged it beyond repair at a rural Portage farm. Defense said the gun was on safe and used to deter the friend. Judge McDonald noted Smoke’s troubled history and sentenced him to six months on each count, to run concurrently but with a separate prior sentence.
