Lack of Ag Market Expansion Scored at Growth Conference
Dr. Arthur Smith warned that uncertainties hover over Canadian agriculture and no single growth policy exists. Delegates at the Agri cultural Economics Research Council of Canada conference heard that lack of market expansion, not production, hinders growth, with emphasis on international developments like Britain's potential Common Market entry and the green revolution. Participants called for renewed confidence, more research, and targeted marketing to expand domestic and export markets, including Canada Japan trade prospects and dairy sector security.
