Peter Stevens, president of the Canadian Toy Manufacturers Association and Tonka Canada, notes most sales occur in fall and early winter as stores plan Christmas displays. Despite cautious optimism, industry growth is seen around 10 percent, though demand may dip. confidence and high ticket item spending are key factors. A Canadian toy safety code, developed by an industry committee, will be ready for use as guidelines this Christmas and mandatory by 1971.

New Farm Cash Will Help Pay the Bills
A. B. Sneath of Manitoba Pool Elevators cautioned that large export forecasts around 700 million bushels for the current crop year do not guarantee cash flow to western farmers. He noted deliveries were below totals in recent years, prices for wheat and barley fell, and many farmers took cash advances against undelivered grain. Still, moving grain in larger volumes offers an optimistic outlook for the latter part of the year and into 1971-72.
