Two Concepcion firefighters Roberto Schmidlin and Ariel Betancourt toured North America in 1929 Dodge cars, covering over 69 000 miles across 16 countries and 40 U S states before settling in Montreal. New liquor directives allow meals with minors in Manitoba restaurants
A Manitoba directive set Oct 15 as the first day minors may drink with meals in licensed restaurants when accompanied by a parent or spouse. It stresses no promotion to under 18s and restricts liquor purchase to a parent or spouse, under amendments to the Liquor Control Act.
