The Sunday School of the Air begins Sundays at 9 45 over CKY Winnipeg as a Christian Education Council of Manitoba project. Produced under the Council's Radio committee, the venture unites six denominations Anglican Baptist Presbyterian United Church of Christ and the Church of the Nazarene representing 78 percent of Manitoba's Protestant population.
The Winnipeg Grain Exchange suspends wheat trading with an initial 1.25 dollar per bushel payment to producers under Nor Nort Participation Certificates. The government cites wartime disruptions and transport problems, noting futures trading has kept prices above the Wheat Board level of about 90 cents.

Mrs Geo E Corrigal of the Orangeville district died after an operation at Gladstone hospital on September 26 at age forty. Ida Ettry Lambert, born in Glasgow in 1903, grew to Canada with her mother and settled in Orangeville. She married George Corrigal in 1921 and leaves seven children, a sister in Assiniboia, and three brothers. Funeral held at MacGregor United Church with Rev C A J King officiating and interment at Beaver cemetery.
