Local Masons Hear Sermon On Foundations And Ideals

Local Masons attended an evening service at St Paul Arch where Rev. Ro Milburn preached on building upon the Lord's foundation. He cited scriptures from Jeremiah and Ephesians and urged organizations to align ideals with spiritual groundwork while noting perceived gaps between intent and reality. Mr Bell Embree played The Holy City trumpet solo with organ accompaniment by Mrs H A Lye.

Teachers Hold First Fall Meeting at MacGregor School

The North awssin Teachers Local opened its season at MacGregor School on September 26 at 8. President Mr. Hardy welcomed new members including Mr. Wells Miss Nichol Emme Bowes Norah Miss Campbell Image Creek Miss Burstahler Hartford and Mr. Sherloski Currie and outlined last year’s work. Resolutions on teacher training larger administration and grants were drafted for the Fall Convention in Gladstone. The next meeting is set for Austin November 2 at 8. A social hour and lunch followed at the Hardy home.

Alice Mae Giles of MacGregor married William George Cooper of Ochre River at St Pauls United Church Winnipeg. Rev McLeod united them on September 23, with Mrs William Longstaff as matron of honor. The bride wore white satin and roses, the groom’s party included Miss Marjorie Giles as soloist. reception followed at Moore. They plan a wedding trip to Clear Lake and will reside at Ochre River.

MacGregor United Church Welcomes Thirteen New Members

The MacGregor United Church welcomed thirteen new members at Sunday service with representation from Beaver Bagot and MacGregor charges. Nine joined on professions of faith. baptismal rites were given to Florence Lamb and Marjorie Giles. Transfers included Mr. and Mrs. Hardy Mrs. P. Templer and Mavis Huget.

New Hotel Opens This Afternoon

The hotel opens doors to the public this afternoon led by owner Hugh Clancy who says opening ceremonies start at 3 o clock. The building will be open for inspection all afternoon and the beer parlor will open at supper time inviting town and rural residents.
