Local merchants promote early Christmas shopping as plans unfold for a Macaulay tree artainment on December 21 and a tree and dance at Emmeline School on December 20. Town residents, church leaders, and committees discuss fairs, parish moves, elections, and village events for 1924 with notices on meetings, parades, and travel.
Miss Campbell field secretary for Z E M M addressed Union Church audience Monday night. The Circle Land Band performed and the musical program was enjoyed. A musical festival at Union Church Sunday December 9 is announced with three anthems and various vocal numbers. Fuller particulars next week.
A notice invites attendance at a whist drive and dance in the Masonic hall at 8 p.m. on Friday November 6 under St Pauls Church auspices. A short music programme includes solos duets a master quartet recitation and instrumental pieces for charity. Admission 1s 9d. dance proceeds pledged. refreshments served.
The MacGregor Agricultural Society annual meeting will be held at the Allies Theatre on Saturday December 1 at 2 o'clock. Directors and Auditors reports will be received and a new Board of Directors elected. ANNISON presides. GILROY serves as secretary.
