The MacGregor Agricultural Society held its annual meeting last Saturday with favorable reports showing prosperity. U F M Campaign Aims At Manitoba Farmers Interruption
The United Farmers of Manitoba launch a three week series of meetings dating from November. Over 300 meetings have been arranged with about 100 volunteers. Since 1902 the UF M fought grain abuses and won changes to the Canada Grain Act. They helped secure lower freight rates on seed grain saving farmers large sums annually and influenced wheat price policy via the wheat pool. The campaign emphasizes education and cooperative efforts to expand farmers’ share of consumer dollars and push agricultural interests amid rising industrial influence.
