The 1.C.C.E. Chapter asks families with sons in the armed forces in Canada or overseas to leave their addresses with Mrs. Hay at the local post office. This instruction helps the chapter collect names for a Christmas remembrance project.
The annual Bazaar of the Young Ladies Society will be held Saturday November 29 from 2 to 9 p.m. at the United Church annex. Tea, sale of fancy work and aprons, a special 25c table, a produce table, and a children’s fish pond welcome all.
Local notices list Christmas tree events for Pathead, Southend, and Image Creek on December 22 and 23, plus a United Church tea on November 22. Visitors include Mrs. Cecil Stocking and Mrs. Morris. St Pauls Church MacGregor holds Sunday School at 11 am and a 7 pm commemorative service for Rev G L Armstrong. Canadian Legion members meet at 6 40 pm and parade to the church. United Churches schedule lists MacGregor Beaver Bagot services on Sunday November 23 with 11 am 1 pm 2 30 pm starts.
The Herald asks readers in arrears or not yet renewed to settle subscriptions and notes it is an appropriate time to issue receipts for payments.
The home of Mr and Mrs Geo West in MacGregor hosted a November 6 reception with about a hundred friends offering congratulations on their fiftieth wedding anniversary. Guests included family, neighbors, and friends, with tea served and flowers decorating the house. The Wests, Ontario natives born in 1868 and 1869, married in 1891 and have four children Ivan, George, Lorne, and Jean, plus seven grandchildren, and have lived in the area since.
A hand saw was lost around November 6 in front of Mrs Booths residence in MacGregor. Finder should return it to H. B. Gilroy.
