Lightning Strike Destroys Cabin and Injures Child in Forest
A bolt of lightning struck a forest observation tower near the Bloodvein River east of Lake Winnipeg during a fall storm. It split rock anchors, damaged the ranger cabin and flooring, burned a radio, and injured one child while tossing another outside. One child was flown to hospital. injuries not serious. Foresters reported the incident in a Manitoba government release to Minister C. H. Witney.
