MacGregor Hockey Club Seeks Coach for New Season
The MacGregor Hockey Club has not yet hired a coach for the upcoming season. Keith Campbell of Portage was considered but unavailable. Several prospects are being reviewed, with decisions due in the next few days. Last year’s coach Gerry Sorenson has moved away, and the team will likely not enter the same league as last season. The club aims to remain in the Carberry league and notes potential changes involving Poplar Point and other towns. The annual Sportsmans Dinner, first week of December, is sponsored by the club with Dr. E. J. Tyler as guest speaker. An article by John Kerns in Maclean’s argues the West will win the Grey Cup, citing Canadian rules, strong ball control, and good officiating as factors.
