Cail-Ryan Vows Exchanged At Portage La Prairie Church
Doreen Ellen Cail and Jay Francis Ryan wed at First Presbyterian Church Portage la Prairie in a double ring ceremony officiated by Rev H L Henderson. The bride wore pink silk crepe with turquoise attendants and a white Bible carried by pink roses. A reception followed at the Legion Hall for 100 guests with a Las Vegas Apple Valley and West Coast honeymoon plan.

Retirement honors for George Carman
George Carman of Delta was honored at a Gulf Oil Company banquet marking his retirement. Sixteen attendees dined at the Portage Hotel, with George Wakefield representing Gulf Oil and Emil Rochaleski presenting on behalf of the company. Carman, married with two daughters, began with Gulf Service in October 1970 after a long rural career, including fishing on Lake Manitoba and work with the Portage Co op. Born in Manitoba, he homesteaded in Saskatchewan, later settled in Delta in 1937, and held various regional jobs before joining Gulf Service Centre.

Memryk Joins Terriers For 1974-75 Season
John Memryk signs with the Portage Terriers in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League for the remainder of the 1974-75 season.
