Visitors at the Boyer home over the weekend included Mrs Lahn and Mr and Mrs K Mc Ivor of Winnipeg and Mr and Mrs J Boyer and Kimmy of Carberry, as the Edwin News extends condolences to the Smith family on their bereavement.
Saturday events at the Living Stone home include Mr. and Mrs. Tilley and Norman Tilley from Porage visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Knox. Guests from MacGregor, Belleville Alta, and Winnipeg join at local homes. Weekend visits continue with Sam Williams household hosting Arnold Watson and Ivan Bain from Winnipeg and other gatherings with the Thompson, Hanna, Stewart families.
Mrs Chieve Osmmas of Mont real visited sister Mrs Clarence Pennell Jr and Mrs Iia Hay and family were Sunday guests with Mr and Mrs Lawrence Hesel wood and Shannah for the Hay wedding anniversary and Linda s 1 birthday Gladys Campbel of Long Beach Calif was a Wednesday visitor to cousin Art Chant Frank Gunston of Winnipeg weekend guest of Earl Anderson enroute to Flin Flon He recently graduated from Manitoba and completed one year of internship at Winnipeg General Hospital Frank Fontaine of the Jackie Gleason show married Alma at 17 and they have 11 children.
The Central Manitoba Children's Aid Society posted a net surplus of $9,909 for 1962 63 at its 29th annual meeting. Receipts totaled $1,292,628 with expenditures of $1,223,219. Foster care served 825 children. 164 families received services. 104 unmarried mothers helped. 128 active families remained at year end.
Stoney Nicholson reports ACI placed fifth in the divisional track meet in Austin. Diane Savtsky and Maxine Head earned multiple firsts and qualified for Winnipeg. Muriel Bryce and Dave Guenter also placed. Baseball: ACI beat Holland 17 to 6 on May 18 and Austin girls won 34 12 in a MacGregor doubleheader while the boys lost 12 7. June outlook follows.
