Mass Elsie Koselicki of W visited during the long weekend at her home at Katrime. A daughter was born Friday May 20 in Portage to Mr and Mrs A Proctor nee Olive Edgeworth. Betty McLaughin of Dauphin was weekend guest of her parents Mr and Mrs HU McLaugh. Weekend visitors included Mr and Mrs A MacDonald and Wayne from Winnipeg. Visitors with Mr and Mrs F McLachlan were Mrs Evelyn Rehill Mr F Borton and David of Winnipeg. Guests of Mr and Mrs Jack Clark were Mr and Mrs M Lindsay and Mrs Ro Clark of Winnipeg. Fred Jenkins went to Portage to visit his ill mother in Portage Hospital. Miss Joyce Lake and Mr J Tomchuk of Portage were holiday weekend visitors. Mrs Lake is able to be up and around daily. Mr and Mrs Jack Peterson of Winnipeg were weekend guests of Mr and Mrs W R Shaw. they visited G Lamont and Miss Maureen Cooper commenced work as bookkeeper at the Met Store in Portage on Tuesday. Mr and Mrs S Cooper and Glenda were Monday evening visitors in Portage with Mr and Mrs Dave Gair. The May Hospital Aid meeting will be at Southend School on Monday May 30 at 8 pm. A baptismal service is planned at Southend School on Sunday May 29 at 3 30 pm if weather permits. Marjorie Chant of Winnipeg spent the long weekend in the area. Mr and Mrs Bert Moore and family visited with local neighbors. The Pennell and Gouthwaite families hosted guests from Winnipeg and Pine Falls during the weekend.
