Trees plan for major planting shattered by shortages
Alderman Jack Lindieman, chair of the transportation committee, said this spring’s tree planting plan is ruined as 2000 trees ordered from Indian Head, Saskatchewan cannot be filled. The committee had offered free trees to residents who would care for them, but the city garage has received only inquiries and no trees. Alderman Shindleman mused that the plan may return next year.
