A Tivoli Thetre audience of scouts and Cubs watched the color film World Jamboree with parents and friends. Thousands of scouts from many countries met, sang, and shared messages, accompanied by other films. The Scout Committee thanks Robert Harvey for the theatre use and extra features.

The Rural Municipality council in MacGregor on May 4 with Reeve Charles Hotel presiding approved routine items. They authorized snow removal and culvert repair costs above $25 to Public Works, hired Liv Templeton as a road operator at $1.25/hour, and accepted C J Neufeld’s $100 offer for Lots 18 19 20 Blk 4 Sidney with transfer costs paid by Neufeld. A pasture rental of $20/year for SE 14 410-10 for three years was set to John Martens. A tax bylaw for 1956 received three readings. The council granted $350 to the Agricultural Society and noted eligible payments for Township 11 and 12. A north side delegation spoke on water problems and a letter about excess water in Township 10 was discussed with plans to ease the situation where possible.
Raymond Wiebe of MacGregor won the Junior and the top overall prize at the Southend 4-H Club public speaking event held May 4 at Lowesome MacGregor Memorial Hall. Nineteen contestants spoke on wildlife conservation forests soil health and farm safety, with about 120 attendees.
On May 16 Gregor will outline a control plan for the 1956 program in areas with heavy infestation. A Court of Revision for electors and Reeves and councillors will meet June 1 in Mac Austin to discuss roll matters across 10 municipalities.
