The WL and Junior W A of the United Church and many friends express gratitude for boxes of fruit and thoughtful acts during Mrs. Prosser's hospital stay and Mr. Prosser at home. Thanks to Dr Koziol and MacGregor Hospital nurses. Such kindness eases misfortune. Mr and Mrs W Prosser.
Local items from Katrime note church service Sunday at 2 30 pm and a stream of visits among residents. People from MacGregor Winnipeg Gladstone and Neopa wa share news of health operations birthdays and anniversaries. Field work begins as weather allows and SOS calls report operation mud hole issues.
News notes from Southend and MacAuley include WMS events at Neepawa and a May 27 tea bazaar at Mrs Fred Snaith. Baptism planned at Southend School on May 16 led by Rev. W R Welsh. Bereavement message for late Mr J Moore and congratulations to Mr and Mrs F Tilling and Kenny of Minnedosa. Public events feature bake sale May 22 at Eye's Showroom and a May 18 meeting for WMS associates at Mrs R A Collier's home. A new Macyuluy Southend Curling Club executive formed with W Forrest as president and Mrs Clarence Pennell secretary.
The May meeting of the women’s organization was held at Mrs. Ed Chant’s home on a Wednesday in May with nine members and two associate members present. President Mrs. Art Chant presided and Mrs. B Vermeulin led the program. Plans were made for a tea and sales including a Touch and Take Table, 25 cent parcel sales, and a table of produce and plants. Donations were appreciated. Lunch followed hosted by the hostess.
Mr and Mrs J L Pogue traveled to Treherne on Sunday. Miss Beverley Pogue of Winnipeg visited for Mother's Day. Miss Edna Kruger from Win npeg spent the weekend with the A Pogue home. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Bert Nichol on the birth of a son Keith James, a brother for Myrna and Lynda. Barry Pogue left to begin United Church duties at Snow Lake and earned a scholarship at United College. Four girls from Image Creek School Myrna Nichol Jeanie Kerr Lorna and Donna Dankesreiter attended the Gladstone Music and Arts Festival. Lorna scored 82 and placed second.
