In a letter to our office this week Mra W A Young of Vancouver expresses the wish that she and her family be remembered by their friends in this community. They retain many memories of their years among us and never forget their MacGregor friends.
Local events include the W.M.S meeting at Mrs. Marsh home on May 18 at 2 30 pm and a Silver Tea Pie Sale May 15 with a dance on May 14 featuring Machan’s Orchestra Admission 50 cents. Portage area and Rural Council business discussed with tax and assessment roll updates and a June 7 council meeting planned in MacGregor.
Our deep appreciation is offered to friends and organizations who remembered our mother during her illness and after her passing. Thank you for flowers messages cards and help. these memories bring consolation to us now and for years to come.
The Katrime Picnic is set for Friday June 25. Winnipegian Miss Ethel Taylor visited relatives and friends this weekend. A.J. Grove Rory Hughie Elsie Betty Grove and Art Taylor traveled to Brandon for a hockey game sponsored by A.C. Brugger party spent weekend at Jeepawa and Franklin. Gertie McKelvy visited the Grove home. Visitors to Winnives included Mrs A Duncan Janice L Smith Neddie Faye E Alton Harvey Gilbert and C Brugger. The Good Neighbors Annual meeting will be May 19 at the hall. Goldens Stream couple Mr and Mrs B Freeborn and D Weber of MacGregor and Portage visitors at C R Barber home. E Duncan and girls and A Duncan spent Sunday with Melbourne relatives. A.J. Grove Mrs Thomas Mr Mrs F McLachlan and Norman visited Carberry and Wellwood. health update on Mrs R Wells then speedy recovery wishes.
