Prairie crop outlook improves with warm weather and good moisture
Agricultural reports say warm conditions and light to moderate rainfall boosted seeding across the prairie provinces with 25 to 40 percent of coarse grain planted and nearly all wheat seeded in Manitoba. Soil moisture varies by region as frost-free days allow fieldwork, while Ontario and Quebec show delays and British Columbia advances ahead of schedule.

North Cypress highway to be built linking Norfold and Carberry area
North Cypress Council in Carberry agreed to extend the provincial highway from North Norfolk through North Cypress at an estimated cost of 120000 dollars. The route would connect with the Norfolk road west of Sidney, skirt Melbourne, avoid four CP track crossings, and head toward Douglas with a future westward segment. Tenders for the eastern portion will be issued soon and a further meeting with the Minister of Public Works will be arranged. A Rosehill man, Harry Hammond, learned of his father in law A W Mason's death at Wyander aged sixty six. The Herald offers route cards posting and prompt order service.
