Bake sales and luncheons boost community fundraisers
Ladies' Curling Club hosts a bake sale May 17 at 4 p.m. at Four-Way Motors to support the new Community Centre. A noon luncheon May 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the United church hall costs $1.00 per plate, sponsored by the UCW afternoon unit. MacGregor Hospital Aid holds its annual hospital day tea May 10 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the United church hall with a bake sale and produce table.

Pine Creek Little Canadian league formed in Austin

Heart Transplant Death Shocks Toronto Patient
Pietro Ongaro, 42, a Toronto heart transplant patient and Italian-born bricklayer, died Thursday at a city hospital. He received his new heart on October 19, and the hospital attributed the death to rejection of the transplanted heart.
