Harry Elliott Buried With Military Honors
Harry Elliott died April 20 1952 in Fox Memorial Hospital Carberry at 72 after a stroke two weeks earlier. Born in London England he came to Canada in 1903 living in Arizona and Pratt Districts. He served in Imperial Artillery in World War I and belonged to North Norfolk Legion. He ran a Store and Post Office at Pratt before retiring to Austin in 1945. Funeral at Christ Church Austin April 23 with Canon Bayley Portage la Prairie. Legion laid poppies on the coffin. Vic Palmer sounded Last Post and Reveille at graveside. pallbearers A Wallace Albert Hay Wm Wood Win McGregor Albert North Alt Barber. flower bearers Percy Pearson Robt Edgar Hugh Gray Jack Boyd. Surviving: wife Violet, son Peter in England, daughter Cicily in South Rhodesia, two sisters in England.
