Rapeseed Council Formed In Canada To Promote Crop
A Canadian Rapeseed Council was created at a Winnipeg conference by about 180 delegates. They will elect a board, adopt 1 percent of rapeseed production (2,000,000 bushels in 1965 66) as a fund, and push market development and research. Dr. J M Bell of the University of Saskatchewan noted rapeseed as a protein substitute with potential mass produced products rivaling meat. Delegates aim to boost edible oil production and involve British Columbia attendees among crushers, manufacturers, exporters, and researchers.
