Edgars Celebrate Long Married Life in Portland Home
Tormer residents Mr. and Mrs. John C Edgar mark a wedding anniversary at 296 Grand Ave N Portland Oregon with an afternoon reception for Piedmont Presbyterian Church members. Born in Ireland and Ontario, they wed in 1891 near MacGregor Manitoba and joined Portland in 1924 after pioneering in Western Canada. They recall ox-train labor and pemmican trips. their family includes ten grandchildren and relatives in MacGregor Holyoke and Moose Jaw.

Masquerade Carnival At The Rink Draws Crowds
The second masquerade carnival was held last Thursday with many costumes. Winners included Edith Manns and Dorothy Young for ladies fashion, Cyril and Art Palmer for gents, Dolly Palmer and Lorna Hay for girls, Vic Palmer and Bert Kitson for boys, and Helen Turner and Grant Fotheringham in comics. A stick-ball game saw married defeat single 4 3, and a hockey match on Tuesday favored the single boys 6 3. George Kelly suffered a left eye injury, and Dr. MacKinnon tended to him. Brandon Pacific team is due next Tuesday for a likely final home game of the season. The rink attracts large crowds, aided by good music, and the committee thanks patrons while urging continued support. Illnesses, mainly colds and flu, are noted in the community, with wishes for speedy recovery.
