Interim Pool Payment on the 1928 Crop in Western Canada
Winnipeg reports an interim payment exceeding 25 million to Wheat Pool members in Western Canada. The 1928 crop frost reduced grain quality, prompting early payouts: Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta pools distribute millions on wheat and rye deliveries, with Saskatchewan noting higher lower-grade shares. Saskatchewan Wheat Pool president A J McPhail comments on financial returns amid higher current wheat prices and the frost impact.
