Mrs A Dunton of Sidney visited Mrs B Jones and daughter over the week end. Bobby Jones of the RCN V R is home on a month furlough. Red Cross proceeds for the village of Austin up to March 4th reached 180.35 dollars. Mr and Mrs RS Stewart moved to a home north of Austin near the CN Railway. A skating carnival drew a good crowd in fancy costumes last Friday night. The Austin Community Theatre meeting was postponed due to the storm. Citizens are urged to clear snow from sidewalks to ease travel.

Mr and Mrs Thos Menz of Pratt Manitoba learn their son Pilot Officer James A Menz was killed in action February 22 after a long service record starting with the Canadian Army and Royal Canadian Air Force. Born in Pratt he studied at Carleton School St John’s College Winnipeg and University of Manitoba and served as instructor before going overseas in 1943. Deep sympathy is offered to the family.
