Passing of William H Ireland Shocks Local Community
The community mourns William H. Ireland who died at home on March 6 in his 44th year after a three week illness. He was born in Hamilton Ontario, moved west in 1911 to Canevale and MacGregor area, married Jessie Orchard in 1919, and later resided here. A former CN section worker, he was a devoted husband and father of three, a longtime baseball player and curling club vice president. The funeral were held at the United Church with Rev. R. Smalley officiating and MacGregor cemetery interment attended by many relatives and friends.
