Sweep Winnings Divided by Family Court Ruling

In a Manitoba case, Justice Israel Nitikman ruled that the family of Barbara Wozney, a four member unit, may share the $100,000 Manitoba Golden Sweepstakes prize. The winning Grey Cup ticket was filled out by Harold Wozney, who also authored two other family tickets. The court ordered Barbara’s and her brother’s shares placed in a trust until their 38th birthdays. The judge said the family intended shared winnings and left the $10,000 seller’s fee to the father’s discretion.
