July fairs and sports days are announced for Portage la Prairie and MacGregor. Canadian Legion Sports at MacGregor on July 19. Dominion Day holiday noted with extended store hours. A big Sports Day, dance, and games planned under the Agricultural Society. Also notes on gophers, a Workmens' Compensation case settled, and local social events and visits.
Decoration Day services are planned at Austin Cemetery on Sunday July 2 at 2 00 pm with Rev G L Armstrong and Rev WR Wood as ministers and ex service men invited to join the Legion. On Sunday July 9 at MacGregor Beaver Katrime the service begins at 1 30 pm at the monument site with Rev P C Bays of Portage la Prairie presiding, assisted by Rev G L Armstrong and Rev R Members of the Canadian legion LO DE and other groups will also participate The public is urged to attend to honor those who paid the supreme sacrifice.
Mrs Geo Moffatt is visiting at Forrestville with her daughter Mrs A Houston.
