Visitors include Mr and Mrs Raymond MacDonald and family with Ken Rintoul at Bagot. Birthday wishes go to Lilley Schapansky on June 18 and Ken Kreitzer on June 29. Bruce Lloyd visited with Dean Doerfler as Ed Lloyd hosted Sunday. District families attended the Carberry ball tournament Sunday.
Sprucedale Workshop asks to clear bedding plants including tomatoes onions cabbages and flowers with reduced prices. A walkathon is planned for Saturday June 27 with sponsor sheets available at Sprucedale and MacGregor. Three week recess starts June 29 as some locals head to Camp Sherwood For Rest Beausejour and resembles a royal visit on July 14 by Queen Elizabeth.
Spruce Hills 4-H Combines held a June 17 meeting at the community centre. The Centennial committee reported the tour was cancelled due to summer closings and the club set July 2 for a community picnic with a booth secured. A four team fastball tournament featuring MacGregor, Sidney, and Pine Creek will start at two with money prizes and a sudden death five inning game, followed by a dance. The club may seek Manitoba tartan ties for the uniform. Marching at the MacGregor Fair was declined due to member absences, with plans for a rally procession in early fall.
