Plowing Match Awards Under North Fork Council
The fifth annual plowing match under the Agricultural Society occurred at James de's farm on Thursday June 11 with favorable weather and large attendance. Wm Shaw won the Sweepstakes trophy with 75 points. O K Belton led the Mens walking class with 70 points. Arthur Anderson won the boys under 21 gang plows with 58 points. Richard Cr won the boys under 14 gang plows prize. David Lyttle of Portage la Prairie acted as judge. The note laments few entrants and hopes for greater future participation, with a community picnic planned by Ben Gregor Union Church lasting 70 years.
