Manitoba to trial crop insurance next year in test areas
Manitoba's Agriculture minister Eric Willis announced a bill to establish crop insurance test areas and to create an agency to run the scheme. Insurance would be available in test areas for next year's crop as the board sets the size and number of areas. The plan aims for actuarial soundness amid varying yields, following national and U S precedents.
