Community Pays Loving Tribute At Service For Postmaster Hay
Community members gathered under a blazing sun in MacGregor on Saturday to honor George Augustus Hay, longtime postmaster and beloved local figure, who died July 1 at 69. Born October 12, 1876 in Lathe, PA, he served MacGregor from 1897, marked fifty years in postal service last November, and was to receive a long service badge. He married Janet Grant in 1910 and left a large family, church, and lodge ties as his enduring legacy.
