Found Dead Near Rossendale Soldier MacDonald
Thomas Henry MacDonald aged forty eight, a returned soldier from the 45th and 226th battalions, was found dead Friday night two miles west of Rossendale on W. G. Henry’s farm. He had attended a local picnic at Long Pisie Reserve then worked on the farm and appeared in good health. A cart wheel trace shows he attempted to leave but returned. The body was found at 4:30 pm by C. Rowland. Constable MacKinnon and Southworth investigated. Dr. Simpson conducted a post mortem in Portage la Prairie and a jury adjourned the inquest to July 23. Remains were taken to Fortage la Prairie. funeral held Monday under Army and Navy lines.
