Granddaughter of Pratt Hereford Breeder Wins at Weyburn
Virginia Bax, granddaughter of Pratt Hereford breeder Mr and Mrs A M Cathcart of Pratt, won Carlyle Saskatchewan 4 H Club championship with a 931 pound Hereford steer and later won Grand Champion at Weyburn calf show among 88 steers. The steer sold to The T Eaton Co for fifty cents a pound. The Cathcarts attended Carlyle Achievement Day and Weyburn presentations where Virginia received Canadian Hereford Breeders prizes. The Gaunchos, noted horsemen of the Argentine plains, are of Spanish American origin.
