Weather Impacts Fair Attendance and Events
Rain and leaks disrupted the Nort District's 82nd fair on Friday. Despite showers, 4H judging continued in horticulture, baking, canning and handiwork as Larry Rumancik’s grand champion calf sold for 39¢ a pound. Six commercial cattle entered, with Bryden De'Athe winning first. Saturday saw sand hauled into the livestock ring and a Denwal trophy awarded to Wegner Bros. for a four-animal group bred and owned by the exhibitor. The heavy horse show was moved due to rain, with Leonard Kennedy earning the Pool Elevator Trophy for his team of Percherons. Various ball events proceeded, while Sunday’s program faced ongoing rain and postponed games.
