Town Happenings at Fair Returns and Rowdy Notes
The 77th fair concluded with rain only Saturday night and good weather on Friday and most of Saturday. Crops look excellent as warm weather continues. A tale recalls Len Lamb and Jack Stafford lifting a big tie with Fred Taylorson moving it to the ditch. A gravel truck caused a stir on Main Street and a midway owner misread dates. The athletic club plans a July 26 sports day. A sweater and several hours of sleep were lost at the grounds, and the Dunka Lion dunking drew laughs along with Frank Hay’s dunking attempt.
