Farewell for Austin High School Principal Fogel
A large audience gathered at the Community Hall on Tuesday June 29 to bid farewell to Mr. Fogel, principal of Austin High School for six years. James Elston chaired the event, Miss Winona Morris read an address, and Mrs. P. Pearson presented a purse from pupils and friends as thanks for his service. The town and school praise his dedication and wish him continued success. It is announced that Miss cell becomes principal with Mr. Holmes of Winnipeg as assistant, joined by Miss Audrey Poyser and Miss Cowan on staff.

Dominion Day sports at Austin fills day with crowds and games
The 52nd annual Dominion Day event at Austin featured baseball six teams Morris High Bluff Portage Crusaders MacGregor and Austin plus four mens softball teams Austin Springbrook Gladstone and Pathead. The High Bluff team won first money in baseball while Portage Crusaders took second. Austin shared top spots in the ladies and mens events with a day ending in a crowded dance hall and show.
