Britannia Chapter 1.C.D.E. will meet January 22 at Mrs. H. B. Gilroy's home. Alex Shaw visited in town with Shaw family. transferred from St. Thomas Ontario to Winnipeg. Mrs Jas. Little's friend Tom Little is improving at Portage la Prairie Hospital after a hip fracture in December. Collins and Jimmy signed with the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve in Winnipeg and return home on leave, awaiting reporting for duty. Local events include School Board gathering at Battle Bridge with eight tables won by the Belgium team. MacGregor Curling and Hols Clubs hosting curlers Ken Watson and Cliff Wise from Winnipeg, with hockey at 7:30 pm. Women's Institute hosted whist and bridge parties raising funds for Red Cross quilts. proceeds $32.75. Further whist evenings raised $9 and $7, with proceeds aiding Red Cross.
