Celebrate Golden Wedding of Mr. and Mrs Wor. Lucas
Mr and Mrs Wor Lucas residents of a Manitoba Ontario town celebrate their golden wedding on December 31 at the daughter’s home. Their family includes sons Herbert of Portage la Prairie John Carl Swan River and Albert Lucas and daughter Mrs Jos Nichol. The couple married in 1868 after moving from Peterboro to Manuols then MacGregor area and long service as prominent local figures including Mr Lucas as school caretaker for sixteen years. The Morris Union Church congregation presented Rev and Mrs J R Johns with a purse before their Northeast departure.

Pathead Grain Growers Meet Votes Memorial for Fallen Heroes
The Pathead Grain Growers Association met January 6 with 25 present. A memorial hall to honor fallen heroes was approved to be built in conjunction with branches and societies. Also approved were weigh scales and stock-yards at Katrine and a coal shed with store room at Beaver. Chas Street and John Horton chosen as delegates to the Brandon Grain Growers Convention. Next meeting set for January 14 at Pathead school with delegates reporting back.
