Thos Clarke, a local poultry fancier, impressed at the Dauphin Poultry Show on February 7, earning multiple top placings across Barred Rocks, White Leghorns, Black Minorcas, and Black Tail Japanese Bantams. He received several firsts and numerous specials including best pen in Mediterranean breeds and best pen in American breeds.
A whist drive is planned for the Community hall on Wednesday next, with a WA meeting at Mrs. Howells on the 22nd. Misses Hay McKay and Mr. Hamilton attended Portage la Prairie for the fancy dress ball. The recent Community hall ball drew many guests, notable costumes, prizes awarded for best costume and best comic, and wintry events continue with the Winter Carnival and tenspiel attracting large crowds at Winnipeg venues.
A MacGregor wedding united Edna May Bousfield and Howard J Veals in University Hart Memorial Chapel with Dr Stuart Thelbrie officiating. Attendants included Julia Brown and Jackie Mullett. reception followed in the University Science room for seventy five guests. The couple plans to be stationed at Chung Chow around March.
On Monday January 3 at St Pauls rectory 49 Archibald Street Rev HA Sims united Miss Beryl Helena Fryer daughter of Mr and Mrs A J Fryer of Victoria formerly of Fort William with Harry McNaughton Scott son of Mr and Mrs Scott of Glenock land The ceremony was at 230 in the afternoon with 20 attendants The bride is known as a photographer and her room as an architect who designed St Andrews Presbyterian church the public library Royal theatre St Pauls Presbyterian church Port Arthur and several city schools Mr and Mrs Scott reside on Norah Street Mes Scott is recalled by MacGregor residents for attending school there when her father was a hardware merchant and photographer.
