Mighty Bridge Nears Completion on Saskatchewan Route

A historic Canadian Pacific Railway bridge in Saskatchewan spans the Saskatchewan River near Nipawin, designed to bear heavy locomotives. When finished it will shorten transit to mining and timber regions, linking exhausted farm lands to a northern gateway. Construction cost over 624 million pounds of structural steel, with traffic between ironwork and trains, and images show pile-drive, steel arrival, and the nearly finished west towers through 1929.
